We're constantly on the search for new and interesting stuff, and it's been a while since we featured a bulletproof Tesla. While there have been plenty over the years, this video pitting a Tesla Model X — with less than 200 miles on it – against an AK47 is certain to garner some attention.

FullMag, a YouTube channel, replaced the Model X's front windshield with an Armormax bulletproof version. The only way to determine whether something truly works is to put it to the test. The channel fires at the Model X from close range with an AK47, a 50 calibre BMG, and an MP5 submachine gun.

The objective here is to shoot the Model X as hard as possible, hoping to hit only the windshield, and then analyse the damage later. Right from the start, things do not go as to plan. One of the first rounds is fired into the frunk cover.

Apart from the windshield, there is clearly significant damage to the Model X as the testing continues. However, as FullMag notes, there is no fire, which makes sense given the location of the damage.

At the conclusion of the video, it's time to inspect the damage. The host joked that because he paid for Full Self-Driving, he hopes the car is still functional. The Model X makes a few air conditioning-related errors. A closer examination reveals that one of the rounds that pierced through the hood appeared to have damaged the AC line. There is some additional minor damage, but it appears as though the Tesla will be fine following some relatively modest repairs.

The film is rather lengthy, yet many of its principles are demonstrated quite swiftly and simply. Therefore, if you're not interested in seeing over twenty minutes of gunshots, you can skip to the chapters that interest you. The following topics and timestamps were provided by FullMag:
